Sh.Tsevelmaa, MONES Chair of the Board of Directors
Former First Lady of Mongolian. “I joined MONES because her work is inspiring women across the nation, and me as well. I am happy to be able to contribute to the social wellbeing and walking together with international women’s movement” said Mrs. Tsevelmaa Sh. in her inauguration speech in 2004.

B.Shuudertsetseg, a member of the Board of Directors

She began working as the journalist and legal service officer at the “People’s Right” newspaper. After writing her first novel “Khulan” she irreversibly set her foot into the world of literature. As a fierce and loyal feminist she supports, promotes and protects women. Her latest production was a big screen movie that was based on a historic novel she wrote historic novel “Queen Anu”, it is about the queen who played an important part in Mongolian history in mid-century. “Queen Anu” was recognized as the feminist work by the critics. Ms Shuudertsetseg contributed to the development of feminism and voicing women’s rights issues through her works “180 degrees” and translation of “Anne Frank’s Diary”. She is the member of the Board since 2008.

S. Baigalmaa, a member of the Board of Directors

The majority of employees in her business, and in the overall sector is women. She has started her bakery in 1996 and is now in her second successful decade. She believes that women have the innate ability to soften the hard, that women are creators of love and are prime peacemakers. She has joined our Board in 2002 from the ranks of long-time MONES donors for capacity building and empowerment of women.

D. Byambatsetseg, a member of the Board of Directors

Working at the International Children’s “Friendship” camp has given her the optimism, energy and the positivity she says. At the Youth Development Center non-governmental organization she worked to protect underage girls from falling victim to prostitution, and collected vast knowledge and experience on other human rights issues. Since 2003, she has been working at the Mongolian National Public Television as investigative journalist, prepares programs on human rights violations, such as violence against family and children, corruption and bribery in the governance structures and drug problems among the population. Since 2012, she has joined the Board of Directors.

D. Naran, a member of the Board of Directors

Professional freelance translator. She has worked on many international projects and also at the Office of the Governor of Ulaanbaatar city. Since 2003, he has joined MONES as a member of the Board.

L. Nyamgerel, a member of the Board of Directors

Nyamgerel is one of the successful women entrepreneurs and been active supporter of women’s economic empowerment in Mongolia. She established Cashmere Co.Ltd, a company that produces cashmere clothing and sells it at her Cashmere house store. She runs a company that employs hundreds of women and she supports their training and encourages them to be proactive in life.Therefore, she joined the Board of Directors in 2009 from the ranks of donors for the advancement of women.

B.Oyunbileg, a member of the Board of Directors

Ms. B.Oyunbileg has vast experience in political, economic and social issues of transition and development in Mongolia. She has worked as governance, civil society and gender specialist for international financial institutions such as World Bank and Asian Development Bank, and worked as consultant for international development agencies like UNDP and UNESCO as well as foreign and international NGOs such as the Asia Foundation and World Vision. Ms. Oyunbileg also has extensive experience in development project on national and local levels in Mongolia including design, implementation and monitoring of legal, economic, institutional and human aspects of these initiatives. She has master’s degree in international studies from Elliott School of International Affairs of the George Washington University, USA and MA in economics from the Academy of National Economy, Moscow, Russia. She is Deputy Chair of Board, Mongolian Women’s Fund, and a board member of Local Initiative, grassroots NGO on governance.

N. Chinchuluun, MONES-founder and consultant, member of the Board of Directors

A lawyer by profession she has become an activist for human rights in the 1990s, and since one of the active members of the civil society. She played an important role in establishment of currently prominent and important NGOs of Mongolia, namely Women Lawyers Association, Center for Human Rights and Development. In 2000, she established Mongolian Women’s Fund (MONES) and till 2013 worked as the Executive Director. MONES is still the only national organisation that works on raising funds and mobilising resources for women’s rights. Since its establishment MONES has supported over 300 projects of more than 150 civil society groups and organisations. Ms. Chinchuluun has developed external relations of the organisation and now MONES is an active member of International Women’s Funds Network, Women’s Funding Network, the Grantmakers without Borders, Asian Network of Women’s Funds. She is one of the 1000 women nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. MONES history and Ms. N.Chinchuluun are inseparable.

B.Zolzaya, a member of the Board of Directors

Zolzaya Batkhuyag is a founder and director of the Women for Change. Since 2008, she has been a gender justice and human rights activist, leading numerous advocacy projects to raise public awareness and community building efforts. From 2011 to 2013, she produced the Vagina Monologues play by Eve Ensler for V-Day, a global movement for combating violence against women and girls, in Ulaanbaatar. She also led the election day monitoring project during the 2012 & 2016 Parliamentary Election, and is active in media and speaking engagements on gender equality, such as TEDx Ulaanbaatar 2013 & 2016.

U.Gerelmaa, a member of the Board
U.Gerelmaa, General Director of Landex, transportation and Logistsic Company, has been selected as a Board Member since 2015. She is one of the leaders from the sector and is contributing to empower women and to improve economic rights of women with MONES.

D.Munkhnasan, a member of the Board
D.Munkhnasan is a Head of the Sayanaa NGO for Wellbeing since 2014 and has a rich working experience of reproductivity and health rights and rights to sexuality. Her experience and knowledge conduce on realizing and protecting rights of sexual minorities. She has been chosen working as a Board Member of MONES since 2015.

B.Khongorzul, a member of the Board
She has been connected with MONES since 2010, while was a member of Young Leader Women, Students Club, was involved in sexual harassment at work places studies occurs among young women and girls.
She quoted: “Ensure of protection and realization of women’s rights plays a big roles to build a healthy society. I belive that the country development is indicated by pursuance and realization of women’s rights and am willing to contribute achieving this goal”. She has been chosen working as a Board Member of MONES since 2015.

B.Nominzul, a member of the Board
Director of Energun Construction Company. She truly believes that regardless of the gender, everyone has to have equal rights and enhancement of women’s economic rights and women’s contribution of household income increase creates gender equality. She has been chosen working as a Board Member of MONES since 2015.
